Help and FAQ

Something is not working. Here is where to go.

First launch, updates, cancelling, the local log — and every frequently asked question, grouped product by product on this same page.

On first launch: “Unknown publisher”

This message shows on every one of our installers. It does not report a problem with the file: it reports the absence of a certificate.

What Windows shows

No certificate

Our installers are not signed with a paid certificate. Windows therefore opens a blue window that talks about an unknown publisher. That message says nothing about what is inside the file: it says no certificate signs it.

What to click

Two clicks

“More info”, then “Run anyway”.

How to be sure of the file

SHA-256 published

The SHA-256 checksum of the file is published just below. Compare it against the file you downloaded, before you open it: that is the only check that proves anything.

File
Setup_BastionService.exe
SHA-256 checksum

Update the app

Both apps read the versions published on GitHub and download nothing until you choose to install. When you accept, the archive is downloaded, its checksum is verified, then the installer opens: Windows asks for permission to install, and the app closes while it is replaced. Your settings are kept.

Bastion Service

Settings, “Check for Bastion updates”.

Palworld Server Manager

Preferences, “Application updates”.

Cancel a subscription

The sale is operated by Polar, the merchant of record: Polar holds the subscription, not the app. You cancel from your Polar customer account, using the address on the order. The launcher store only buys a product and takes a key. You do not need to keep the app installed in order to cancel.

What stays usable without a licence is described on each product page.

Open Polar

Find the local log

This is the file we will ask you for. It stays on your machine until you send it.

Bastion Service

C:\BastionService\journaux

Under the install folder you chose. This path is the one offered by default.

Palworld Server Manager

%LocalAppData%\PalworldServerManager\logs

Preferences, Diagnostics section: “Open logs folder”, or “Export logs as ZIP” to send everything at once.

Frequently asked

Every question on the site lives here, and nowhere else. The first ones hold for the whole range; the rest are grouped product by product.

General questions

Do I need a card for the 3-day trial?

Yes. We ask for a card at sign-up and we will not pretend otherwise. Nothing is charged during the 3 days, and you stop it from your Polar customer account.

What happens if my server loses internet?

Paid modules keep working for up to 72 hours offline — 7 days for Palworld Server Manager. After that, paid features pause; your game server itself is never stopped.

Are my game files modified?

The Guardian bots read your save files read-only. Bastion ORP is a server-side plugin: no client-side mod, no game file changed.

Can I use Bastion with any host?

No, and it is written on every product page above the price. Some features need access to the save files. Without that access, server status, sessions and tickets work; leaderboards, the tribe log and raid tracking do not.

My licence key is refused

The key is validated with Polar the moment you paste it, so the machine needs a connection right then. Then check that it is the key for the product you are unlocking, and that it was copied whole. If it is still refused, write to us from the address on your order.

Where are my settings, and can an update erase them?

In Bastion Service, each product's configuration lives in a folder next to its program, inside the install folder you chose. An update replaces the program, never reaches into the configuration, and takes a copy of it into the backups folder before acting.

I want to report a bug or ask for a feature

On Discord. For a bug, say what you were doing, what you expected, what happened instead, and attach the local log: that is what makes a problem reproducible instead of guessed at.

Guardian ARK

See the product page
Can the bot restart my server?

No. Guardian ARK reads, it does not write. Restarting is the launcher's job, or your host's.

How many servers does one subscription cover?

Every server in one network, in a single Discord. A second, independent network needs a second subscription.

What happens to my Discord if I cancel?

The bot stops posting and you can remove it. Your channels, roles and messages stay untouched.

Guardian Palworld

See the product page
Can the bot kick a player, ban someone, or shut my server down?

No. Those seven commands are refused in the code before anything is sent, and read-only is forced back on at every start under the launcher. One exception, and it comes from you: the commands you write yourself as battle pass rewards, or on a scheduled message once you have armed the switch made for it.

Can I run it on my PC while my server sits with a host?

No. The bot queries the server on its own machine's local address, so it has to run on the same machine as the Palworld server. Check this before you buy, not after.

Is there a free version of the bot?

No, and this is where it differs from Guardian ARK. Without a valid key the bot disconnects from Discord and only its settings panel keeps serving. The launcher stays free: it installs the module, watches it and updates it.

Are the leaderboards real time?

No, and we will never write that they are. They are rebuilt from a copy of the server's latest automatic save snapshot, every 30 minutes by default. The copy lands in the bot's own work folder; your save files are never opened for anything but reading.

What happens to my Discord if I cancel?

The bot disconnects and you can remove it. Your channels, your roles and everything already posted stay exactly where they are.

Bastion ORP

See the product page
Do my players need to install anything?

No. Bastion ORP is server-side only. Your players download nothing and see no mod.

Does it modify my save files?

No. No game file is modified; the plugin keeps its settings in its own folder.

What if I uninstall it?

The game's rules return immediately. Offline damage is possible again from the next restart.

Palworld Server Manager

See the product page
What exactly do I get for free?

One server, its installation, its 122 settings, its scheduled backups and their restore, scheduled restarts, the crash guardian, the admin console, player management, mods and plugins. No account, no card, no time limit. Five features are paid: the second server, Discord alerts, the Discord bot, the live player map and the Tools tab. There is no sixth one.

What happens if I close the app?

The server stops and your players are disconnected. The app is not a Windows service: it is the app that holds the server up. If you want it running overnight, leave the window open on a machine that stays on.

Do I need to own Palworld to host?

Not on the machine doing the hosting. The dedicated server downloads from Steam with no account and no purchase. Your players, of course, need the game to connect.

Do the monthly and yearly plans unlock the same things?

The same five features, exactly. The yearly plan adds nothing on top; it simply costs less per month.

Why does Windows say "unknown publisher"?

Because we do not pay for a signing certificate. We would rather write it here than let you discover it: the checksum of the file is published on the product page — compare it before you install.

None of this answers it?

Discord is the main channel; email is for anything touching an order. The Contact page says which one to pick and what to put in a message.
